This is our sweet 4-year-old Kortney. She loves to paint, draw, color, glue, build, and paint her toenails. She is very much her daddy's little girl, and accompanies him to scouts when she's allowed, helps him with yard work and fixing his dirt bike, and enjoys finding ladybugs and grasshoppers and digging in the dirt. She's learning how to ride a bike, and is very cautious now, after a few spills. She recently got into dress-up, since most of her friends do that, and she has to wear some kind of necklace almost every day. Kortney tells me all the time that her hair is getting longer, her muscles are getting bigger, and that, pretty soon, she'll be as big as papi. She helps Taylor get dressed, "reads" her stories, and gets down the snacks that Taylor just can't reach. She keeps Emmrie away from the stairs, brings her a pacifier and toys when she needs them, and even feeds her little pieces of food if she's hungry. She loves to hold her and talk to her, and let her climb all over her. Her favorite chore now is emptying the dishwasher, although she gets frustrated that it needs to be emptied every day! She loves

animals, and really wants a little puppy she can hold. When Kali, our boxer, whines, she tells us it's because she misses her puppies, and we need to get her another one. She loves to go to Grandma's house and feed and ride the horses. Once, one of the babies
nibbled her hair like hay, and she's been pretty wary around them ever since. She is a fun little drama queen at times, and I catch her using some of my phrases with Taylor, which can be pretty scary. She is into long, full dresses for church, and for the longest time, I never understood why. Finally, one of my friends, who is a Primary teacher, told me, "We sure love to watch Kortney in sharing time." And that's when I learned that she stands in the front when singing time starts, and twirls around while she sings all the songs at the top of her lungs. I subbed in her class this past Sunday and finally got to see it first-hand. She's not the only girl who does it. I don't know who started it, but all the adults smiled like they were used to it. I quietly tried to keep her from running into the chorister, who didn't seem to mind. Finally, when she fell
over from dizziness, I put her on my lap, and she stayed there the rest of the time. We sure do love her. She's a joy in our lives, and keeps us on our toes, even when she's not!
