How long have we lived here now? Almost 4 years, and yesterday was the first time we've taken our kids to Yellowstone Bear World, less than 1/2 hour away. I have to say that they LOVED it, and I was just glad it was half price yesterday, because I had NO idea it would've been THAT expensive! It was great, though. The first time we drove through the park, the girls were glued to every window of the car, and they piled over each other to get the best view of every elk, bear, wolf, deer, turkey and mountain goat they could spot. Then we parked and let them ride all of the cute rides they had there. Neil helped the girls pet the lazy pot-bellied pig that grunted so ferociously every time he even touched it. It was hilarious. The girls were scared of it, and it never even lifted its chin off the ground. Neil kept buying food pellets for the little goats and the ducks and fish, but none of them even cared about it, because apparently the whole state of Idaho knew about 1/2 price day at Bear World, and all the animals were stuffed by the time we got there to feed them. We drove through the park one more time before heading home, and I bet the girls couldn't care less about any animal at all that time. They were worn out, and had a great time. And of course I forgot my camera, so I have no cute kid photos to show, but I did have to record our fun trip for proof that we DID finally get to go to Bear World!
